Donkeys get a bad rap in movies!

Diane K24: Yeah, like the one that George C. Scott, in the role of General Patton, threw over the bridge!

Now THAT ONE upset me!

Donkeys are amazing! And there is much value in being "thoughtful, deliberative, and hard working," not to mention the trait for which most humans disdain them: stubbornness. With the exception of the braying, "Je suis un âne!" Yes, occasionally the ass part, too.

Thank you for the information. A very under appreciated creature.

Little Bit and Lakiya's Mama: Another feature, I cannot believe I forgot: A donkey is fearless and helps fend off coyotes from the sheepfold!

Wonderful equine!

My wife has called me a feral jackass. I laughed almost as hard as that guy.

John Hennigen: ?

I am so anti-Trump that I take a backseat to NOBODY who is anti-Trump.

But your beginning, "Isn't that the . . ."?! implies that a predicate was laid elsewhere.

As an old lawyer, I object, your honor, for failure to lay a foundation . . .

You have a complex wonderful way of narration. The lawyer in you never left even after retirement.

Please don't denigrate a noble donkey by comparing it to a subhuman.

Little Bit and Lakiya's Mama (I LOVE your moniker): I totally agree with your sentiment.

I have a soft-spot for donkeys and equines generally. I also LOVE a goat-pen. Cute, wonderful creatures of Mother Nature.

Just beyond my neighborhood is a goat-pen protected by a German Shepherd. I LOVE the rough-justice enjoyed by goats and shepherd!

I wish our society was as well governed as the little neighborhood goat-pen.

Little Bit and Lakiya are my remaining cats. Tell your wife I too am a cat herder. All strays or adopted lost souls. I lost my other members Deber (Dauby), Keety Mahn, Jimmy Durante, Ouhey and Dana, my hell bitch. The last 4 last year in 8 months. My heart still aches especially after 18 years with them. Creatures center my soul and my world revolves around them.

Little Bit and Lakiya's Mama: I understand.

I kept Sam, a Siamese, alive 19-1/2 years. Poor fellow could not quite make 20. Good little guy. We miss him. Very affectionate.

Four in 8 months? My heart goes out to you. I can barely imagine how much pain that had to be. I got devastated whenever I lost one at a time. 💔

It was complete shock and I was literally numb, despondent and cried constantly. The manner they died was heartbreaking as well. Keety Mahn, hyperthyroidism. Jimmy Durante, heart failure. Ouhey, hyperthyroidism. Dana, squamous cell carcinoma of the mandible. Keety Mahn and Jimmy Durante have been gone one year. Ouhey"s one year anniversary just happened. Dana's will be in July. I still can't type about it without bursting in tears. Thank you for your concern Mr. Troutman.
