Trump/Vance: Fascist Blood-Libel and the Fox Whitewash Yesterday

You have to love the wit of the Honorable Roy E. Barnes, Esquire, former Governor of Georgia, who is the Attorney for the Honorable Fani Willis, Prosecuting Attorney.

Bullseye against one of the worst: the Honorable Jim Jordan, Congressman (R-OH).
The real aim of today’s post is a point of regret about a journalist that I had long respected until yesterday.
Many times, as Conservatives would tune in with Fox News, Bret Baier was the day’s anchor.
By and large I had hitherto found Bret Baier’s to air issues of passion to Conservatives, but to be overall fact-based and somber, reasonable in his presence.
Not so yesterday.
Our Joyful Warrior, the Next President, Kamala Harris, faced the fierce winds of the opposition press, and she did so with a joyful, courteous spirit, and she sailed bravely and conquered the gales and squalls of the distortions and outright discourtesy of Bret Baier.
In the half-hour interview, one had to patiently sit through half-the-time with Bret Baier trying, U-N-S-U-C-C-E-S-S-F-U-L-L-Y, let it be noted, to speak over the voice of our Future President.
Despite a forceful male voice, our brave warrior spoke clearly and distinctly over the heat of Bret Baier’s voice constantly fact-checking him (imagine! a candidate having to fact check a major network’s news reporter!).

What was shocking was that one of the better, day news anchors on Fox took from the outset an attitude not of cross examination, but of outright hostility and a total slant of any factual background.
At the outset, predictably, the Fox News host combated on the issue of immigration, comparing the end of the Trump with the beginning of the Biden Administrations, and trying to hold Kamala Harris responsible for what Fox viewers have been trained to view as massive hordes invading.
This training is responsible for the inhumanity of Governors Ron DeSantis (Florida), and the inhumanity and crimes of Governor Greg Abbott and his Attorney General Ken Baxton in Texas.
The racist right is directly responsible for the deaths of mothers and their little children on the Rio Grande with sharp barbed-wire obstacles that do nothing to curb drug lords and sex traffickers but that entangle and drown women and their children.
Of course, none of that should be expected on Fox, not even from a daytime News Anchor.
Instead, Bret Baier offered up rhetoric of Biden/Harris neglect on the border with distortions about endangering our security.

But that was not the worst part.
As Professor Ruth Ben-Ghiat (NYU — an expert on the beautiful Italian language and culture, and a leading historian on Benito Mussolini) has long pointed out the fascism of Trump/Vance:
Kamala Harris has long pointed out Trump’s fascist/Stalinist language of “Enemy of the People” (i.e., the Press) and “the enemy within”.
Bret Baier distorted reality, and Kamala Harris called him down on it, when Bret Baier outright said that Trump no longer cites enemies from within and cherry picked a friendly audience interview with soft touches by news anchor Harris Faulkner.
Bret Baier distorted what Trump said, and cherry picked a very short clip from the Harris Faulkner interview, that left out the part where Trump then and there retrenched with accusations of Nancy Pelosi, the Democrats, and Adam Schiff as the “enemy within”.
Future President Kamala Harris surprised Bret Baier by totally refuting him, both by fact-checking that the clip distorted the answer Trump gave (where he double-downed on enemies within), and reminded Mr. Baier — to which he helplessly had to nod — that they both knew that “the enemy within” — namely, the opposite political party — was a leading theme throughout Trump’s campaign.
Despite the fact that right-wing extremists like Newt Gingrich and Jesse Watters did fake victory laps, it was plain to any objective viewer that Bret Baier had dropped any pretense of civil dignity or objectivity and launched an attack, that he lost against Kamala Harris who was able to speak through and over Bret Baier and reach the intended audience with her programs for the dignity, equality, safety, and welfare of each citizen.
In other news, yesterday, before Univision, Trump not only doubled down on enemies within, but had brutally incited violence against lawful, peaceful Haitian immigrants.
Trump/Vance, even yesterday, double down on the blood libel to incite racial violence against these Haitian immigrants, though the Republican Governor of Ohio has asked them to stop, and even though the mayor of the affected city, Springfield, OH begged Trump/Vance to stop the incitement of violence that has disrupted the community.
Trump/Vance make the obscene charge that Haitians steal pets and in ritual voodoo eat the kitties and puppies.
This is the Blood Libel.
That doesn’t come from nowhere.
Here is what a major civil rights organization says about Blood Libel:
The “blood libel” refers to a centuries-old false allegation that Jews murder Christians – especially Christian children – to use their blood for ritual purposes, such as an ingredient in the baking of Passover matzah (unleavened bread). It is also sometimes called the “ritual murder charge.” The blood libel dates back to the Middle Ages and has persisted despite Jewish denials and official repudiations by the Catholic Church and many secular authorities. Blood libels have frequently led to mob violence and pogroms, and have occasionally led to the decimation of entire Jewish communities.
This background of race-baiting and racial hatred in Europe is what led to Hitler and Joseph Goebbels and the genocidal Third Reich.
Trump/Vance intentionally borrow language from the obscene, age old Blood Libel, and they double down on the incendiary race baiting as recently as yesterday.
Moreover, long ago, in race-baiting against immigrants, Trump used obscene, incendiary language about “they send us their racists and murderers” or outcasts from mental institutions, and worse, the specific language borrowed from the Third Reich, They poison our blood.
Later, I will be kind to Conservative friends.
Make no mistake.
This neo-Fascism is not traditional American Conservatism or Libertarianism.
Far from it.
We need a responsible Republican Party to be a check on us, the Democrats, because a variety of political/economic concerns will balance each other out and will result in an emphasis on Social Justice (liberals) balanced against fiscal restraint, accountability for scarce resources, and freedom of small business. This is an honorable, good, sound, needed position that represents real needs and concerns.
This Conservatism is in the best tradition of John Locke, David Hume, Adam Smith, David Ricardo, John Stuart Mill, Milton Friedman, Friedrich Hayek, Russell Kirk, and the honorable, highly missed John McCain.
I welcome a time when traditional Conservatives lead a party that is majority or near majority and with whom we can debate civilly and with mutual respect for the dignity of each person and any minority.

Roy Barnes took snark to the level of high art in that letter! As for the Fox interview, the more I see of Kamala Harris, the more impressed I am. If I ever needed an advocate to fight for me, she's the one I'd want to call.
Holy Cow Armand! That Letter! That FOX INTERVIEW! The Fascist Information ! My head is spinning! Thank you for your time and passion on this serious moment in history as we all hold our breath to see if Americans can rid itself of the Maga disaster which has literally ripped our democracy threads into shreds for almost ONE FULL DECADE. I am going to take what you wrote in sections and digest because there is so much here. But that letter from the " simple country lawyer" to that moronic dangerous delusional congressman was sooooooo utterly delicious!!! DELICIOUS!!!
