Lorraine Evanoff: The project wanders because I run into such fascinating people. Some of these people lived to be 98-years-old, so they saw a whole world evolve in front of them. As histories of wonderful people -- and many proto-Nazis that tried to suppress them -- so many stories come to life.

Reading primary sources brings you so close to the women and men in the trenches -- literally, since some of these were WWI veterans.
