A Winning Ticket KAMALA HARRIS; A LOSER (Trump) and TWO LOSERS (Trump/Vance) . . . BOOOOOH!
Make the GOP OWN their insults
Since no one likes snark, instead of throwing up one’s arms — Make the Foe own their snark and drown them in a flood of happy, satirical ads with JD Vance denouncing “Cat Woman”, played to a cut from Michelle Pfeiffer as the Feline-Fatale confronting Michael Keaton (Batman) (circa 1998).
Even John Bolton (!!) denounces JD Vance’s Catwoman! in an interview with CNN’s Caitlan Collins:
It is the equivalent of Hillary Clinton’s denunciation of the “usual deplorables.”
Mr. Bolton, in the forceful way that he is capable of, said during the same CNN interview that, while it a Candidate will naturally attack the opposing candidate, it is a grave error to mock said candidate’s voter base!
Error on the Trump/Vance Team is Gain for Kamala Harris!
If it is an error, if it is offensive, the Democrats need to put it on the megaphone and on ceaseless attention-grabbing ads that show the snark uttered through Trump or Vance — these ads should be ceaseless until every Trump/Vance voter sees for herself/himself the misogyny.
Instead of bemoaning the GOP snark, we should welcome it and magnify it and take a big lens to burn a hot hole in the GOP apparatus by ceaseless repetition so that even Fox News and the Trump/Vance voter gets tired of it.
Far from retreating from GOP attacks, we welcome and magnify them with outrageous, contagious humor and bite, until “they cry Uncle!”
Meanwhile, Trump’s attacks show that Trump’s inner circle already forecasts defeat for their home team.
A few weeks ago, Armando was adapting himself to a life of loyal opposition in 2025.
But the Democratic Party has been energized in a way I haven’t seen in scores of years.
The closest memory I have, is my vivid memory, and Joy after LBJ in 1968 pulled out, but RFK with his natural rhetoric and his eloquence reminiscent of Mahatma Ghandi in high moral substance and noble, memorable expression swept California and the liberal voter was energized.
I was twenty, and I remember the celebration of RFK’s victory as vividly as if it was last month.
I had deeply loved JFK, had a sweet, adolescent-boy CRUSH on Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy — that she was Francophone linked her to my Dear Mom, from Charleroi.
So seeing RFK win gave this 20-year-old a real rush of joy, ecstasy.
And the sudden shock of irrecoverable loss — Sirhan Sirhan.
My God, joy turned to anguish in the lightning-flash of a weapon in the hands of a dismal murderer.
My God, they took JFK, Malcolm X, Medgar Evers, Martin Luther King from us.
RFK had just comforted his supporters over the loss of Martin Luther King in rhetoric that elevated despair and sorrow to renewed Moral Commitment to equality, due process, fairness, the long moral arc later uttered by the inspirational Barack Obama.
And then, we lost RFK.
My God, this is 1968, and Armando, then 20, is appalled — the Right Wing had not been able to resist the Great Moral Movement of our lives, so they decapitate the Movement through brutal murder of our most noble leaders!
So, we got Dick Nixon, whose saying, “If the President does it, it is not illegal” (I laughed so hard at that as to spit out my coffee!) is the predecessor to Trump.
But the remaining 100 days of the election show a candidacy with great moral force and tailwind and sheer joy and the fight to win in a way that this amateur political observer has not observed since RFK in 1968!
I am deeply saddened by what happened to President Joe Biden.
I suspect Mr. Biden’s abdication was Chicago-New York style political-boss handling behind the scenes, ruthless of the human person.
It is positively indecent.
I deeply believe that President Biden was mishandled.
The debate performance, let’s face it, was characteristic of a graveside.
But picture this: Winston Churchill gave Great Britain Shakespearean inspiration during the unbearable bombings.
How did Mr. Churchill do it?!
Mr. Churchill was not ashamed to take naps.
There is no shame in it.
A proper handling of Mr. Biden would have realized the strategic importance of a face-to-face confrontation that we invited, and would have ensured that Mr. Biden was well rested and was entertained to a joyful state, so he could appear as the Joyful Warrior against Trump.
Mr. Biden is fully capable and was mishandled.
After the debate, they did not rest Mr. Biden and his performance was sometimes good, sometimes showed a need for more rest and joyful stimulation.
None of us are immune to that.
In WWII, Prime Minister Churchill needed these boosts, and as a result, The historic Prime Minister delivered the greatest weapon we have: The English Language in Shakespearean depth and boldness that awakened the valor of a historic and great nation.
I believe that proper handling of Mr. Biden would have let Mr. Biden this time, as he has been before, be the inspirational, happy warrior, that is native to his character and person and projected him to victory, from his time as the Senate’s youngest member to his tremendous, almost 8-million vote win over Trump.
I do believe Mr. Biden is capable of that.
I believe the momentum we have and project could have been under Mr. Biden.
But the foe is too evil for us to have an inner-party food fight.
I do not like what happened.
But I enthusiastically support Kamala Harris, and the Momentum the Candidacy and Party project is similar to the moral force that projected RFK in 1968, and I do believe that not only will the Kamala Harris ticket win, but that she will carry the Senate, so the Honorable Chuck Schumer will remain Majority Leader, and that Kamala Harris and Happy Warriors in Ms. Harris’ wake will carry the House, so instead of Mad-Magazine, What-me-Worry Alfred E. Neuman — in the person of Speaker Michael Johnson, we will elevate a statesman worthy to be third in line to the Presidency: the Honorable Hakeem Jeffries.
We agree again. Flex some muscle, go on the attack, kick some ass. Laugh loudly and publicly at the repugnant attacks with responses like “this is just the name calling of a three year old. The Republican has become the party of children in adult bodies.
Hakeem has been magnificent💙🇺🇸💙
