My Second Home: The Rheinpfalz
Short interlude:
My beautiful and radiant Nancy (together 53, married 51-years) and I are spending time with dear friends (like dear cousins, really) in the Rheinpfalz, my Second Home.
For a couple weeks, I’ll be among some of the world’s most welcoming and dearest of persons, the Pfälzer.
Although Germany is stereotypical for beer, the Rheinpfalz is the home of the Romantischestrasse — The Romantic Way — with white wines, which are strictly graded by EU standards.
In the Romantischestrasse, vintners build a reputation for being good families with sound practices in developing their sweet wines.
The Pfälzische Hospitality is heartwarming.
If you are close, you will have breakfast with expresso and maybe eggs and other dishes, lunch with Fleischbrot, and dinner including wine.
They are a deeply good people, some of whom are hilarious with a few bottles of beer or Schnäpschen.
Honestly, I could live there permanently.
I have family friends of over 45-years.
I won’t be here in the suburb of Memphis.
But Nancy and I will be home.
After that, we return for the homestretch of the November 5th election.
But Armando has far broader interests than that, which we will share together.
Thank you Armand, always interesting and informative!
